Cathy Oakley Obituary
Survived by her mother, Patricia Oakley Russett; three sisters, Sharon Cowles, Karen Medlin, and Edwina Oakley; five brothers, Daniel, Jonathon, Edward Michael, James and Edward Charles Oakley.
Survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her best friend Brenda Huges and her family.
Preceded in death by her father, Edward Davis Oakley.
Long time member and supporter of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 300.
Memorial visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, 3-7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family will be appreciated.

Cathy i wish i had just one more day to be with you. You were taken from us with such short notice. Cathy you were the BEST! I will always remember everything you taught me and my girls. You taught me how to ride my bike, how to count, and how to stand in the corner when i was bad. Cathy u helped raise me. I remember you making the best mac n cheese and ramen noodles ever! You have been there since the day they brought me home from the hospital, and that is very special to me! There is 22 years of memories that i could list and u were there for all of them. Cathy thank you so much for everything. You were like my other mom. I hope u will still watch over me and help me on my journey thru life. Cathy there isnt a day that goes by that i dont think of you. I never told you how much you meant to me but i hope n pray that you know. Well rest peacefully and happily with your Dad by your side. Cathy, i will forever keep you in my heart ,like the big sister ,and friend that you are, you'll never die. I'm so deeply saddened to hear of Cathy's death. My deepest sympathy to her family.
Cathy and I attended school together so it has been some time since I had spoken to her. She was a very kind person whose smile would light up a room. She was a special person whose willingness to forgive others made a lasting impression on me.
One very fond memory I have is attending her birthday party when we were in junior high school. We all had such a good time and it was obvious she was surrounded by a loving family.
May your memories sustain all of you through this difficult time.

Karen, I wish I could say something to give you comfort. I'm very sorry for your great loss.
I know you spoke of your dear sister often and really enjoyed your relationship with her. I know she will be sadly missed by your entire family and all the wonderful friends that she inspired with her warmth and love. She is at peace and you will see her again. Call anytime you want or need to talk. You are such a great friend, I know Cathy was as well.

There will never be anyone out there that took care of us Hughes kids like you did. From takin us kids to the park, to concerts on the hill, to passing that off on our kids who loved you deeply as well.
