Daniel Kuban Obituary

Daniel P. Kuban Age 55, went home to his Heavenly Father on July 22, 2010. Dan's life was a blessing and inspiration to all who ever met him, whether it was in the boardroom or the slums of Mexico. He spent his days in the moment, embracing life with a contagious enthusiasm, pointing out the small things, and teaching us of the big things. Dan was many things through his life: husband, father, son, brother, papa, friend, engineer, inventor, businessman, mentor, teacher, the guy at the airport making balloon animals for children. But most of all, Dan was a servant of Christ. He lived out Matthew 5: "let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." All he was, and accomplished, must be viewed through the lens of his Savior - he sought His glory above all things, yearning for the Hope and Glory that is to come, and it is in this light that we will all remember him. As D.L. Moody once remarked, "Someday you will read in the papers that I am dead. Don't you believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now." He was a 1969 graduate of St. Joseph Grade School, Lockport and a 1973 graduate of Lockport Twp. High School. Dan's local survivors are his parents Richard and Dolores (Bebar) Kuban, brothers and sisters David (Marian), Duffy (Cindy), Mark (Kathy), Lori (Gary) Tondini, Mary Lou (Tony) Hatley, Tom (Lauretta), Paul (Kim) and Alan (Geralyn). Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. A Memorial Mass celebrating Dan's life will be held 6:30 pm, Monday August 30, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lockport. Lori, It's been many years since we've seen each other. However, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember when we were little and I would come to your house and we would aggrevate your brothers just as you would mine! Now our lives have taken us on different paths and we don't stay in touch but again, all my prayers are with you.

Dearest Lori, and the entire Kuban family: my deepest sympathy on the loss of Dan. I know how close your family has always been and I pray that Dan did not have to suffer too terribly before God took him into His home to be with Him. My beloved Daddy just passed suddenly on 8/23/10. I now have my own special angel to share my birthday with. We buried him on a beautiful sunny afternoon and like your Dan know he is at peace, no longer in pain and watching over all of us in the glory of God. Again, please accept my deepest sympathy. Love to you all and Lori, know that I love you and miss you very much and wish I were there for you but Mom needs me now too.
