Dennis Lee Randolph, age 76, of Wenona, IL passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, at Alden Estates in Naperville, IL while under the care of Lightways Hospice in Joliet. He was born January 26, 1949, in Joliet, IL the son of Harold Jr. and Mary (nee Boggs) Randolph at St. Joseph Hospital.
Dennis attended Channahon Grade School and Minooka High School. While in high school, he played on the basketball team that won the conference in 1967. Dennis is listed in the Hall of Fame at the high school.
After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1973 with the rank of Sergeant. While in the Corps, he received a Rifle Expert Badge, a Good Conduct Medal, a Vietnamese Service Medal with one star, and a Combat Action Ribbon. Dennis was injured while serving in Vietnam.
Dennis was a member of Teamsters Local #179 for 19 years from 1973-1992. He drove a truck for Cardox, Ty Walk and then worked for Midewein National Tallgrass Prairie until his retirement.
Dennis is survived by his son, David (Karen) Randolph of Manville, IL; sisters, Sharon (Jim-deceased) Feeney and Sandy (Dominic-deceased) Fodero both of Channahon; nephew and niece, Jimmy (Lucy) Feeney and Shari (John) Horvat both of Minooka; and nephew and godson, Frank Fodero of Channahon; several great nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father, Harold in 1991; and his mother, Mary in 2006.
His family would like to give many thanks to Alden Estates of Naperville and Lightways Hospice of Joliet for his compassionate care given during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations in his name to Channahon United Methodist Church Kitchen Fund or Lightways Hospice of Joliet.
Visitation for Dennis Lee Randolph will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Willard Grove Cemetery.
