Don Pellegrini Obituary
Don 'Donny' Robert Pellegrini
Born: January 25, 1956
Died: May 25, 2024
Don "Donny" Robert Pellegrini, 68, left this world May 25, 2024.
He was born in Joliet, Illinois on January 25, 1956. Most recently he lived in Valrico, Florida. He attended Taft Elementary School in Joliet and Lockport Township High School where he played football.
Don was mechanically inclined and could repair anything from a car down to a necklace. He worked construction on and off with Joliet Laborers Local and then ran a home repair business utilizing his abilities. He also worked as a sign installer at Artisan for many years.
He loved babies, children and teens and they loved him back dearly. The neighborhood boys would come learn how to fix cars and Donny would lead them into a personal relationship with Jesus at the same time. He loved to have fun and joke and pull pranks and especially loved music. A drummer from the time he was a boy, being scolded by the teachers for tapping on his desk and most recently taking up guitar, Don loved spending time with friends going to concerts. He also loved attending the races at Indy 500 and camping.
Don is preceded in death by his father Charlie Pellegrini and his mother Margot (nee Albrecht) Zelenka. He is survived by his wife Ruth and her children, Don's step-children, Dylan (Rose), Michael, Matthew (Sylvia) and Emily Peterson and former wife Jean and their children Jason Pellegrini, Jeromy (Jinelle) Pellegrini and Kelly (Tim) Murray, grandchildren Adrianna, Malachi, Levi, Novalee and Valerie. Also, Don is survived by his four sisters Cindy, Brenda, Tina and Sandra and one brother Michael Pellegrini, many loved nieces and nephews, and aunt Erika Waibel.
Many considered Donny to be a second Dad and they are too many to list here but you know who you are! Thank you to all of you for your various acts of love and kindness during this time. You are greatly appreciated.
