Gerald Lee Unland "Cuz"
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Hines VA Medical Center at 77 years of age.
Born in Channahon, IL the son of the late Herald and Ardel (nee Torkelson) Unland.
Jerry leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and many friends as well as wonderful neighbors of his life long much beloved Channahon community.
Preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Donald and Ronald Unland; three sisters, Mildred Gang, Lorene Ramsey and Phylis Unland and canine companions, Killer and Muffin.
Jerry will be fondly remembered as a cherished Uncle. He enjoyed all of God's Creation and God's Creatures, he was a wild life enthusiast who was dedicated to making sure that there were plenty of peanuts and goodies for his wild life visitors who he kindly feed by hand. Jerry contributed to the well being of our Nation, serving as a distinguished Veteran of the U.S. Army and for that we are grateful.
It was Jerry's final wishes that he be privately laid to rest along with his comrades at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Interment has taken place.

I remember Jerry Unland from Channahon since growing up during the Vietnam War time. Drink a few cold ones with him at Rittof's Tavern and talk with him down by the park near the dam. He is knowledgeable about the history of the town having grown up there. Salute to Gerald Unland.

My younger brother, Ken and I will always remember Jerry for his wit, and his good nature. Growing up in the Channahon area was a delight, and Jerry always had a smile and made us laugh. Jerry this is for you because your the only one who knows what it means between friends. "Have a "6".

There are a lot of memories that I will never forget. Uncle Jerry's love for Leisure suits, love for dancing, cooking , animals......he was always smiling and happy. He will be missed by many.
