Henry A. McGuire

Henry Alvin McGuire, went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2016, in DuQuoin Illinois.
Henry was born on January 1st, 1930, to Clarence and Freida McGuire in Marion Illinois. Henry grew up in Marion Illinois and in 1959 he moved to Joliet Illinois to work at Caterpillar Tractor Company where he worked as a welder until he retired in 1990. In 1995 he moved to DuQuoin Illinois with his wife Cora, where one of the many things he enjoyed doing was making wooden lawn ornaments, which he crafted in his workshop, which Cora helped him with. They took many of their creations to fairs and craft shows and won many ribbons including many first place ones for the different creations. One of his most remembered creations is a wooden train caboose birdhouse, which was very popular.
Henry loved his family very much and spent as much time as he could with them, he also loved fishing and spent a lot of time doing so. He loved feeding the different birds and animals at his home in DuQuoin with his homemade bird and animal feeders.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Freida McGuire; his first wife of 39 years, Janie Dilday-McGuire; his very loved and fond daughter-in-law, Kimberly A. McGuire; and stepdaughter-in-law, Karen Henry.
Survived by his loving wife of 20 years Cora. He was beloved father to Betty Wiles (Jim), Henry McGuire Jr (Kim), Connie Eberhard (Lloyd), and Clarence McGuire. He was loved by his grandkids, Susan McGuire-Mezger, Henry A. McGuire III, Christopher Wiles, Courtney Eberhard-Huffman and Holly Eberhard. He had multiple great-grand kids, which we loved. His many cousins of which included Donald Fluck (Peggy) of Marion Illinois and Marless Doughty (James) of Elizabethtown Kentucky.
Per his request, no visitation or service was held. Cremation services were accorded and private interment will take place on a later date in Davis Prairie Cemetery Marion, Illinois.
