Holly Lynn Mathews blessed this world on February 2, 1999. She was loved dearly by her parents, Stephen and Sharyl Mathews, and little sister, Marci Mathews; fiancée, Adam Gregurich; future inlaws, Jim, Toni, Alex, and Emily Gregurich; grandfather, Leigh Anderson; grandmother, the late Barbara Anderson; grandmother, Susan Deering-Mathews; grandfather, the late John Mathews; grandmother, Vicky Bye; grandfather, the late Gerald Alling; aunt, Michelle Anderson; uncle, Adam Reinertsen; aunt, Erica Anderson; uncle, Michael Frazier; uncle, Mark Alling; uncle, Kevin Mathews; many more family members and countless friends.
Holly became a caregiver as a teen, she received her CNA license before she graduated from Minooka High School in 2017 and was employed at Alden Rehab Center, spending endless hours caring for those coming to the end of their lives. Growing up, Holly enjoyed ballet, horseback riding and playing soccer in Shorewood. She was a lifelong member of the Leisure Lake Membership Resort Club. Holly's love of nature brought her to pursue a career as an Arborist. She was attending Joliet Junior College working toward a degree. Holly was employed by Arbor Tek Services as a Plant Healthcare Specialist, where she kept three of her six cats that she cherished. Holly was well-traveled, visiting Europe and all around the country. Her adventurous nature was shown in her hobbies. Holly was known in the off-roading community and was considered a natural, often keeping up with those her senior. Holly was what is good in this world, with her humor, kindness, and love for life. Holly will be missed by many.
Visitation for Holly Lynn Mathews will be Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately by the family.
