Joanne Rungaitis Obituary
Age 83, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, at the home of her beloved niece Maureen, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sophie (Palko) Zuffa, her husband, James Rungaitis, her sister Sophie Zufa, and her three brothers, Robert, Joseph, and John (Shirley).
Survived by her niece Maureen (Zufa) Blevins, and Maureen's daughters, Joanne's cherished great nieces: Shelane Nunnery, Amber Blevins (Ron Nastasowski), and Rachel Blevins-Cowan (Doug Cowan). Also survived by her niece Penney (Jimmy Lane), nephew Dennis (Raquel), several great nieces, and several cousins.
A lifelong resident of Joliet, Joanne worked at Catholic Charities for 34 years. She was an accomplished artist and photographer. Joanne was known to be kind, generous, and good-hearted. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 13, at SS Cyril & Methodius Chapel, located in SS Cyril & Methodius Cemetery on Rt 6 (Maple Rd - East of Briggs St.) in Joliet. Visitation will be from 10am to 12 noon, with services immediately following.
Donations in her name can be made to Compassionate Care Hospice in Joliet would be appreciated.

I worked with Joanne many years ago at Catholic Charities. She was the kindest and gentlest person. I´m so glad we were able to reunite with lunches with friends a few years back. My deepest sympathy to her family. RIP, Joanne.
