Ned Barnett Obituary
He was employed by the Rock Island Railroad for 32 years, retiring in 1981. Ned was past Master and member of the Lockport Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. Lodge 538. A WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, serving on the Navy Ship USS Strong. He was also an avid golfer and was very proud to serve his Country and to be a Masonic Lodge member.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Vernadine (McPhee); his parents, Ned M. and Mary (Hester Fitzpatrick); a brother, Paul Barnett and Robert Barnett.
Survived by his wife, Wanda (Jagodzinski-Bakos); his children, Ned (Jackie), Randy (Linda), Patricia (Timothy) Clark, Jeffery (Maria), Kimberly (Ken) Kral, Timothy Barnett, Jacquelyn Herbert, Russell (Amy) and Victoria Barnett; numerous grandchildren; step-children, Beverly Bakos, Lorraine (John) Morrey, Sharon (Don) Ruffatto and Bob Bakos; five brothers, Thomas (Ardyty), John (Jeanett), Ronald (Sharon), Michael (Judith) and Patrick Barnett; three sisters, Eleanore "Jean" (Late William) Huston, Phyllis (Robert) Arthaud and Barbara (Ralph) Tissiere.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Lockport Masonic A.F. & A.M. Lodge 538 to support the Shriners Children's Hospitals would be appreciated.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 9:15 am from the O'Neil Funeral Home, 1105 E. 9th St., Lockport to St. Mary Magdelene Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet. Visitation Tuesday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. with Masonic Services 7:30 pm. O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME
