Nellie Mae Ingram (nee Johnson). A long, busy and steadfast life came to close on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on June 27, 1929 in Clinton County, Arkansas to the late Rev. Franklin Johnson and Elmetter Dickerson Johnson.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, George Johnson, Lewis Johnson, Sr.; two sisters, Ruthie Mae Ricks and Francis Lincoln.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Deacon James David Ingram; a blended family; one daughter, Garry D. (deceased, Larry) Terry of Memphis, TN; five sons, Darnell (Penny) Johnson, Willie E. Johnson, Larry J. (Rebecca) Vann, Ronald E. Vann, Elvis (Hannah) Vann, all of Joliet, IL; step daughter, Lisa Jean Ingram of Jackson, MS; and one step son, Stanley Ingram of Joliet, IL. She also leaves 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene (Ruby) Johnson and Sylvester Johnson of Joliet, IL; two sisters, Mae Ellen Williams of Memphis, TN and Alma Roberts of Richmond, VA; a special sister-in-law, Mary Lorine Butler-Smith (Andy) of Walls, MS; sister-in-law, Gertha Mae Johnson, a resident of Sunnyhill Nursing Home; a brother-in-law, Theodis Lincoln of Lockport, IL.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM and Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Mt. Moriah M.B. Church, 1503 Arthur Ave., Joliet, IL. Service at 11:00 AM, Pastor Clint Wilburn, officiating. Interment following at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
