Nicolas Beaudoin Obituary
Age 68, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Villa Franciscan Care Center after a prolonged illness.
Survived by his loving wife, Roberta (Hylka ) Beaudoin; children, Margaret (Eric) Hesse, Katherine (Mark) Caven and First Class Petty Officer Corpsman John C. (Tania) Beaudoin III; one grandson, Jackson Caven; one brother, George Alec (Grace) Beaudoin; brother-in-law, Thomas (Gladys) Hylka; two nieces, Marcy and Brigette Beaudoin and nephews, Michael Beaudoin, Robert (Tracy) and Jerome Hylka.
Preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Mildred (Godden) Beaudoin.
Born in Chicago, a Joliet resident most of his life. Graduate of Lewis University. Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the S.S. Eleanor Roosevelt. Retired teacher after 27 years at St. Raymond's School and worked at the University of St. Francis in the food service department. Member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond and the Knight of Columbus Council #382. Nick was a devoted Cubs Fan.
Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, Friday, January 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. to the Cathedral of St. Raymond for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 3-8 p.m.
Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Nick. It has been a long time since I have seen your wonderful family. Stephanie and I spent a lot of time at the Beaudoin home many years ago. Take care of yourselves and God bless.

Mr, Beaudoin's yearly Science Fair at Saint Ray's was a world class event for every sixth, seventh, and eight grader. Where else could we get Mice, Motors, Mars and Microbes under one roof? He was a very patient (and brave) man to take us all in, and teach us Science. He will be missed by all.

Nick was very instrumental during my formative years in science back in 74 and 75. He had a terrific outlook on education and influenced many students. He was a great Teacher.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Beaudoin was my science teacher at St. Rays and I'm sure he taught a handful of my siblings too. He touched many childrens' lives and tried to teach us a love for science. I hope your happy memories help you during this difficult time.
