Patrick Kearney Obituary

Patrick C. Kearney
Born: March 8, 1945 in Berwyn, IL
Died: September 30, 2025 in Joliet, IL
Patrick C. Kearney, 80, formerly of Arlington Hts., IL, and recently of Shorewood, IL, passed away on September 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with melanoma. Born March 8, 1945, in Berwyn, Illinois to Peter Kearney and Charlotte (nee Frankowiak), Patrick attended Lane Tech High School and Wright College in Chicago. He spent his career as a mechanical engineer for Motorola. His favorite hobbies were photography, travel, cheering for the Cubs, and spending time with his "grand dogs". After he retired, he volunteered at the Chicago Botanic Garden and sold his photography at local art fairs.
Patrick is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Diane (nee Kolimas); his son Brian (Samantha Raniere) and granddaughter Morgan; daughters Jennifer, and Laura (Cooper Ide); siblings Michael, Robert (Deborah), Thomas (Linda), and Lorraine Mesch; sister-in-law Deb (Lee) Lukazewski; and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Patrick will be remembered as a wise, generous, and loving man, who was always quick to make people smile. His devotion to his wife during her heartbreaking descent into dementia, even as he battled his own illness, stands as a testament to his character. The family will have a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lightways Hospice in Joliet, Illinois.
