Robert Blum Evans, age 79 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born in Joliet, IL on October 6, 1945 the son of Gerdell and Virginia (Blum) Evans.
Robert was united in marriage on August 12, 1972 to Miss Anita Pope and they spent the next 53 years happily together. Bob spent many years as a dedicated teacher, coach, and athletic director in Yorkville, IL. He was a proud member of the Iowa State Alumni Letterman Club, where he played football and was the captain of the team. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife, Anita Evans of Yorkville, IL; his sons, John (Jennifer) Evans of Oswego, IL, and Jim Evans of Yorkville, IL; as well as his four grandchildren, River Evans, Brooklyn Evans, Easton Evans, and Savannah Evans.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Gerdell and Virginia Evans; and his sister, Carolyn Evans.
A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL with Richard Mau officiating. Interment will be private.
Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
