Thomas F. Meditz, 59, of Montgomery, IL, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2025. He was born on September 1, 1965, the son of Carl and Barbara (Reinhart) Meditz.
Tom attended Wyoming Technical Institute and earned a certificate in Automotive Technology. He was currently a sales rep for MAP Lowe Automotive and with his master of persuasion was able to sell just about anything. In 2012 he earned the presidents club award for his excellence in sales. His skill wasn't in closing deals, but he had the ability to make people feel understood and confident in their choice, he never met a stranger. He was a jack of all trades and a master of most. He instilled in his children at a young age the value of a good work ethic. They learned early on how to detail cars, pour black top and mow lawns. He had a love for the Chicago Bears and White Sox and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to play baseball. He was an avid fisherman and was a longtime member of the South Wilmington Fireman's Club. Tom enjoyed grilling, going to car shows, and time spent at St. Joes Park, and he also collected Hot Wheels.
Above all things, he will be remembered for his twisted sense of humor, his dad jokes and most of all his servant's heart.
He is survived by his wife Julie (Draxler) of 30 years; children, Jon (Angelina) Meditz, Zachary Meditz and Nicole Meditz; grandchildren, Nathen, Ethen, Elisabetta, and Greyson; siblings, Patricia (Lynn) Mormann, Carol (Michael) Sather, Michael (Jennifer) Meditz, Elizabeth (Michael) Guzzi and longtime dear friend, David (Eileen) Cleghorn. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Barb and stepfather, Richard Miller as well as his brother, Richard Meditz.
Family will be receiving guests on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will be private. For directions and online guestbook visit www.dieterlememorialhome.com
