In the sixties, we lived on the corner of Reed and Oneida when Cremeens became our neighbors. We did not get to know them very well, but we did get to know Timmy. I have a brother who is 23 years younger than I am and he came to visit us a couple of times. He met Timmy and they became very good friends.
My brother who is in his fifties now (just about a year older than Timmy) was talking to me about him just a couple of months or so ago and wondering if I had any idea what had become of Timmy. I told him we did not know, but in my wife's annual Christmas card to Don and Betty Crabbe, other neighbors of Cremeens, we would inquire if they had any news of what had become of Timmy.
Fast forward this to a fantastic performance of the Van Heidecke Chicago Festival Ballet with the Danville Symphony on December eleven. My wife attended this magnificient performance (I did not because I was sick) and upon close observation of the credits for the company, she ran across the name of Timothy Creemens. This had to be the Timothy we once knew and so she wrote a note to Betty Crabbe as we had planned and Betty informed us that the very next day after she received our note, she read Tim's obituary in the paper.
Naturally, we were very shocked and grived to learn that we would never be able to re-establish contact with him. He was such a remarkable little boy and he must have become a remarkable man. We grieve with the Cremeens and offer our condolences to all of his family. Jestin and LaVonne Trahan. [email protected]
