Valeria Monette Obituary

Monette, Valeria K. Valeria K. Monette, 68, of Romeoville, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013. She was born April 28, 1944 in Springfield, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Warren E. White and Robert Monette; mother, Mable Ruth Ahlers; fathers Harold Brannon and Robert Lee Ahlers; brothers Robert Ahlers and Harvey Morgan; sisters Cheryl Caldwell and Barbara Kemp, as well as her nephew, Robert L. Shepard. Valeria is survived by her son, W. Edward White of Warrenville; grandsons Michael, Joseph, and Thomas; sisters Ruth, Laura, Arnette, and Ida, as well as brothers Mickey, Allen, and Les, as well as many nieces and nephews. Valeria was a long time resident of Chicago, where she lived since leaving her childhood home in the Springfield area at the age of 18. She was a long-time employee of Montgomery Ward, Mutual Truck, and Walgreens. Valeria loved to read, study history, genealogy, and spending time with her family, especially her Grandchildren. The visitation is from 4:00 PM until 9 PM on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Anderson Memorial Chapel, Romeoville. The funeral service will commence at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 6, 2013, also at the Anderson Memorial Chapel. Pastor Howard Hoekstra will be officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. www.andersonmemorialchapel.com
