Harold Hay Obituary

Harold C. Hay, 90, Monticello, died at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1923 to the late Eugene and Mayoma (Pollard) Hay in Indianapolis. On July 6, 1946, he married Corinne "Cody" Little at the Christian Church in Oaklandon, and she survives.
He was a graduate of Lawrence Central High School and attended Butler University where he played basketball. Harold was a dairy farmer for 30 years and a livestock and grain farmer for 58 years.
He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, White County 4-H Fair Board, and White County Historical Society.
He was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed fishing, and vacationing at Elk Lake in Michigan.
In addition to his wife, Cody, he is survived by a son, Mark H. (Michelle Y.) Hay, Monticello; a granddaughter, Lyndsi M. Hay, Chicago, Ill.; a grandson, M. Andrew (Erin A.) Hay, West Palm Beach, Fla.; a niece, Dede (Rick) Hughes, Murray, Ky.; and a nephew, Randy (Jane) Moore, Monticello.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Morgan Liane Hay; sister, Bonnie A. Moore; and brother-in-law, James F. Moore.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department, White County Food Pantry or the Monticello United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
