He was born Dec. 4, 1981, to William J. and Marilyn S. (Reynolds) Todd, who survive. He married Beth McElroy of Rensselaer in 2019; she survives.

John was raised in Monon and a graduate of North White. He received his bachelor's degree at Indiana Purdue at Fort Wayne and his master's degree at Illinois State University. He had a passion for music, singing, and dancing.

John and Beth were dedicated and loving foster parents. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Purdue basketball superfan and he worked for the US Postal Service in Rensselaer.

John is also survived by his sons, Logan and Aydin and daughters, Alyvia, Norrah and Destiny; as well as his siblings, Robin Todd, Rhonda Todd, William Todd and Kevin Todd; brother-in-law, Collin Moore; and many nieces and nephews on both sides.

John was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend to anyone who knew him. He will be sadly missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8 at the Steinke Funeral Home in Rensselaer from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. CST with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. CST.

Burial will be held on Monday, June 9 at 10 a.m. CST at the Weston Cemetery in Rensselaer.

Bill, Marilyn and family,
There are words, too often said when a loved one passes;
"I am so sorry for your loss."
The most precious gift in life is the birth of a child!
Every moment thereafter is an additional gift. Moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day, year by year, regardless the length of time, we are blessed to have those moments, as memories filled with love, laughter, tears, joy.
And, Thank God, those precious, unique, one on one, which just the two of you shared.
We are granted, moment by moment, memories, that can be recalled anytime, anywhere, and sometimes, in the strangest of places. Those moments are honored, cherished and loved until the day arrives when we can reach out, see and hold that person in our arms again and Thank God for every moment that has passed until we meet up once again.
My heart and my love goes out to all of you
