Richard Humphries Obituary

Richard K. Humphries, 83, Stillwater, Okla., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024.

Richard was born to John K. and Phyllis G. (Hadley) Humphries on March 19, 1941, in Lafayette.

Richard graduated from high school in Hillard, Ohio and then went on to serve his country in the Air Force. He served for six years, with an assignment in Korea for a period of time, before being honorably discharged. Rich worked for United Telephone Co. of Indiana, which eventually became Sprint and had a career there for over 30 years.

He is survived by his son, Joel and wife, Julie Humphries, St. Clair Shores, Mich.; his daughter, Jennifer and husband, Aaron Newton, Stillwater, Okla.; three grandsons, Noah, Cade and Cooper; and one brother, John E. (Mary Sue) Humphries, Lewis Center, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service began at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Dan Thimell officiated the service.

Those wishing to honor Richard's memory may do so by contributing to Zion Lutheran Church of Perry at 15976 John Wayne #64, Perry, Okla., 73077.
