Betty was such an awesome lady, full of life and an incredible sense of humor. I will always remember who she would walk into the store with a straight face and then tell a sassy joke and then she'd have a huge smile on her face and her eyes would sparkle. Just beautiful.

Lois & I were friends with Doug & Betty for about 40 years. By chance we even vacationed in Hawaii together (unplanned) perhaps ten years ago. Betty was a one-of-a-kind. There never will be another. Her talents with music, her ribald humor, and sense of comedy will be missed along with the friendship between our families. My late wife Lois helped edit her book and my son Michael helped Doug with his Power Point presentation of her book. Unfortunately, the last few years were not kind to her.

It was always a pleasure to see Betty's smilin' face. She constantly lit up SHYC with her charm.
She'll be missed.

Betty and Doug were friends of my mother and father Isabelle and Lee Chandler. We were members at Wilton Congregational Church in the 50's and very early 60's.
On occasion as a teenager I would baby sit for the Jones "kids".
Fast forward to our wedding day August 26, 1961. Betty graciously lent her beautiful voice to our ceremony, singing "Panis Angelicus".
Several years ago we met after all those years at a Music and Arts concert at Christ and Holy Trinity Church, Westport. How time flies . Love the ones you're with.Oh Betty the world has lost a treasure indeed
Deepest sympathy to your family

Betty was my voice teacher for 15 years. She was a good friend, and a fine teacher. On top of that, she had a wonderful sense of humor!
She often attended my performances, and I enjoyed working with her.
I learned much about singing and life from her, and I was impressed by her knowledge and wisdom. The stories she shared about opera experiences, funny mishaps and challenges were priceless.
Her voice as an opera singer was gorgeous: I had the privilege of hearing her in a recording of Oberon.
Memories of her will always be treasured.
