I was so sorry to hear of Cal's death. I worked with him at Norwalk Savings Society in the late 70s and early 80s in the mortgage department . He was one of the people who trained me to take mortgage applications and conduct real estate closings. As someone else wrote, he truly was a gentle giant- sweet and funny in a quiet, humble way. I am especially thankful to him for a very important lesson about how to handle customers with confidence. I was pretty young and very unsure of myself and he shared with me privately that he really was a very shy guy but that the customers didn't need to know that- that if he acted confident, it inspired his customers to feel comfortable too- "Fake it til you make it" - and you know, after a while I was feeling it. Over the years, I've had many opportunities to use and benefit from that advice given so lovingly by such a wonderful man and I've never forgotten him. I am praying for all who loved him and will miss him- may your wonderful memories bring you comfort.

Bill and Family- Your dad was a gentle giant and always a gentleman to me. I have a view of him in my minds eye of how he filled the room with his smile and his presence. I watched him love his wife Emily and family AND my sister Marianne proudly over all these years. He is a power that will be missed, yet always remembered. Love and heartfelt condolences- Sally
