The world lost a great man and lost a special friend who passed away on February 10, 2025. He was a resident in Norwalk, CT. Born on July 13, 1942, at Norwalk Hospital. He was the son of Daniel Purcell Jr. and Frances Purcell.
He owned the Sportsman's Bar in Westport, he co-owned Purcell Moving Inc. with his brother Larry Purcell.
He enjoyed playing softball, boating with his family, tinkering with cars and trucks. He also enjoyed time traveling and time with family and friends. He played shuffleboard with his daughter Sandra at the Ukrainian Club in Southport, CT on Monday nights, long car rides and flea markets. He was also president and lifetime member of the Screwballs
He is survived by his wife Stacy Purcell, daughters Laura Romano (Rob), Sandra Scotto (Rob), granddaughters Ashley Gorkin (Elliot), Kaitlyn Scotto, and a great-granddaughter Olivia Barbara Gorkin. Two sisters, four brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in law several nieces and nephews and a great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife Barbara Purcell and his son Donald Purcell.
A Celebration of life will be held at the Eagles Club 6 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, CT on June 10, 2025 from 3 p.m. till 7 p.m. Condolences may be let on line at www.hardingfuneral.com.
