Elizabeth A. Fralinger-de Pierne

Elizabeth A. "Betty Ann" Fralinger-de Pierne,  born in Upper Darby, PA Nov. 24, 1948, passed into eternal rest in Norwalk, CT September 22, 2011.  Betty Ann was an accomplished historian and researched of 18th and early 19th century lifestyles, and a distinguished expert in the field of ladies clothing, hats and bonnets, as well as 18th century needlework, especially crewel embroidery. She hand crafted museum quality reproduction clothing. She was highly skilled in the art of 18th century hearth cooking and food ways. She particularly enjoyed presenting lectures and interactive interpretive demonstrations on period clothing, cooking and lifestyles for various museums including the Wilton Heritage Museum, Miller Cory House in NJ, Pennsbury Manor and the Landis Valley Museum in PA, and other regional museums. She maintained a collection of museum quality artifacts, which she utilized in her presentations.

She was a member of the 3rd NJ Regiment, Brigade of the American Revolution for 34 years, and together with her husband, Skip, a member of Old Sturbridge Village in MA. She was predeceased by her father, Vincent Gilio and her step-father, Maurice Fralinger. She is survived by her most beloved husband, Otto "Skip" de Pierne, her beloved mother Elizabeth R. Fralinger, her brother Joseph Valentino, her sisters Dina Whitaker, Dolores "Sissy" Gilio, Donna Gilio, her beloved step-mother, Andrea "Andie" Gilio and her step-sister Terry Woodard. She is mourned by numerous family members and beloved friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at St. Philip Church, Norwalk, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk. Her family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 8pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Memorial donations may be made to: St. Philip Church, 1 Fr.
