Ernest Richard Kosmecki, 81, from East Norwalk, CT, passed away on December 24, 2024, in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born in Norwalk, CT, son of Ernest and Marie Kosmecki. Ernie graduated from Norwalk High in 1961 and joined the Air Force later that year. He served for four years as a radar technician and went on to become a technician for Hewlett Packard. Ernie eventually moved to Key Largo, FL. where he started his own appliance repair and sales business. After 20 years in the Keys, he moved to Volusia County where he worked in Real Estate sales. He eventually retired in Deland, FL.
Ernie loved boating and spent much of his free time cruising and sailing the local waters in Long Island Sound, the Florida Keys and the Intracoastal from New Smyrna to Titusville.
Ernie was predeceased by his sister, Debra Kosmecki Murray.
He is survived by his sister, Donna Kosmecki Ross, of Oak Hill, FL; niece, Heather Murray Klopp of Silver Springs, FL; nephew, J.R. Murray of Mineral Bluff, GA. and six grandnieces and nephews.
No services have been scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the care of Dudley Funeral in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
