Gary Singer 1929 - 2016
Norwalk native Gary Singer, 86, died peacefully at his home in Bradenton, FL, Saturday, October 15, 2016.
He was born November 27, 1929 in Norwalk. A graduate of Norwalk High School and the University of Bridgeport, he was a proud veteran of the Korean War.
His career in advertising - both with major New York agencies, as well as leading his own company - was augmented by his dedication to volunteer community and civic service in Weston and Westport.
Gary's other passions included golf, tennis, music, theater, travel and family. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Doris (Bunni) in 2015, and leaves behind children Barry and Betsy Singer of Arlington, MA and Tim Singer and Augusta Wilson of Shelburne, VT, and grandchildren Edward Benn Singer of Ayer, MA and Chloe Singer of Arlington, MA.
An announcement regarding a celebration of Gary's life will be forthcoming; In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in his name to Vermont Haiti Project, 63 Maple Leaf Lane, Shelburne, VT 05482, or Westport Community Theater, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Westport, CT 06880

We only knew Gary 8 short years but our friendship felt like one of a lifetime. Our times at the gym, on the golf course and visiting with both Gary and Bunni will always hold fond memories for us. We will miss you, dear friend!
