Longtime Norwalk resident, George D. Grover passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 89. Born April 27, 1936, he was predeceased by his parents, Milton Grover and Iva Mae Timpson Grover, brothers, Milton, Robert, Laurence, sister, Ruth Morgan, son, George "Doug" Jr., and grandson, Michael. George is survived by his wife, Cathy Cappiello Grover, daughter, Lori Gandini, grandson, Matthew, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
George served as Deputy Chief of the Norwalk Fire Department and was the former President & CEO of the Norwalk Municipal Employees Credit Union. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, gardening, sports, and traveling for both work and pleasure.
Family and friends may celebrate George's life with: Visitation on Sunday, November 16th, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. A service will be held on Monday, November 17th, at 11a.m. at Magner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
Donations, in George's memory, may be made to Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, 22 Danbury Rd., Wilton, CT 06897, or Sisters of Saint Thomas of Villanova, 76 West Rocks Road, Norwalk, CT 06851.
