Giuseppe Napoleone Obituary
Giuseppe Napoleone, 81, passed away peacefully at Norwalk Hospital on February 7, 2025. He was born on August 25, 1943 in Buonopane, Ischia, Italy to the late Elvira (DiCostanzo) Napoleone and Giovanni Baptiste Napoleone. He moved to the U.S. in 1967 with his family. He married Maria (Schiano), also of Ischia, in 1971 and they raised their family in Norwalk, CT.
Giuseppe worked at Howe Furniture Corporation from 1967 until its closing in 1994. Known to his friends and coworkers as Joe, he was an easygoing, kind, and gentle man who never missed a day of work. He enjoyed keeping a large and impressive home garden, making homemade sauce and wine, and both preparing and eating delicious traditional Italian food.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children: John (Hillary) Napoleone and their children Dylan, Jamie, Jack, and Charlie of Beacon Falls; Elvira (Dan) Uccello and their children Paolo and Gino of Colchester; Antonio (Ruth) Napoleone and their children Marco and Riker of Winsted, and Gerarda (Philip) Pires and their children Codey and Felicity of Fairfield. Giuseppe also leaves his brother Salvatore (Rose) Napoleone of Beacon Falls, Pietro (Helen) Napoleone of Virginia, and sister Clara (Napoleone) Threunfogo of Ischia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was most proud of his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 13 from 5-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
