Howie and I were friends in Germany. I was in college and Howie was stationed at McGraw Kaserne. He was a natural leader and a gentleman. I loved who he was. I am so sorry to hear that he is no longer making people laugh, at least not on Earth.

Howie recruited me to work for Monroe in 1990. I moved from Cincinnati to Long Island, knowing nothing about everything. To say that Howie was my mentor would be an understatement. He taught me everything about sales, about customers, about living in NY, about life. He made his customers into family, sharing travels and making the most out of time together. He was larger than life and had the heart of a lion. God bless you, Howie! Pretty confident you're in heaven right now, enjoying a slice with friends, and organizing the next big event. My only regret is not communicating to you my appreciation for all you shared.

Gayle,

So sorry for you loss. I know the wonderful life you two shared together through stories you and my mom have shared with me. I hope that those memories give you comfort during this time.

With Love,

Brittany

To my childhood friend, Howard - even though I didn't see much of you in person over the years, we still had unlimited amounts of time on the phone to talk and you never said "I got to go; I'm busy." We talked endlessly about anything and nothing . . . I'm going to miss those conversations with you. They covered sixty (60) years of time about our lives. Your memory will always be with me and I really don't know how to say "good-bye."

We are so saddened to hear about the end to Howie's courageous battle with cancer. Some people come into our lives and go quickly. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same. Howie was such a person and he will be greatly missed
