James MacIntyre Obituary

James F. MacIntyre
James F. MacIntyre, 89, beloved husband of the late Mary Rita MacIntyre, passed away on June 10, 2024, at Norwalk Hospital. He was born on June 3, 1935, in Greenfield, Massachusetts, to the late Cecil and Hilda Blake MacIntyre. Jim was predeceased by his older brother, Robert Earle MacIntyre.
Jim grew up in western Massachusetts, attending Greenfield High School and later Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he first met Mary. During the late 1950s, he served in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Germany. After his service, Jim and Mary relocated to Stamford, Connecticut, where they started their family. Jim began his career in finance for Pitney Bowes Corporation, where he excelled for over forty years. Jim and Mary were happily married for forty-seven years until her passing in 2005.
Jim had a passion for playing golf, and he appreciated spending time with his sons and close friends on the course. Jim also loved being an active supporter in his children and grandchildren's sporting events. He and Mary would travel, regardless of distance, to cheer on their loved ones. Jim passionately rooted for his favorite team, the Boston Red Sox, through thick and thin. His unwavering dedication to the Red Sox spanned almost a century, and how lucky they were to have him as a fan!
Jim is survived by his eldest son Michael and his wife Fleuri MacIntyre of Ridgefield; his son Drew and his wife Cathy MacIntyre of Norwalk; and his daughter Tracy and her husband Carl Pace of Norwalk. He leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Kelly, James, Mary Claire, Justin, Kevin, and Danny MacIntyre, and Megan, Drew, and Kate Pace.
A private burial and memorial service for immediate family will be held on Tuesday, June 18 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut.
