John Steven Angerame

John Steven Angerame, 68, beloved father of Dominique B. Angerame, died Friday, February 22, 2013. He was born in Bronx, NY, the cherished son of Alba (Manfredi) and the late Dominic Angerame. He was a long time resident of Norwalk and Fairfield before returning to the Bronx. John proudly served in the US Marine Corps.
While in Norwalk, he owned and operated J & R Italian Foods. He then became an award winning sales representative in the wholesale wine and liquor industry. During that time John also worked as a bartender for the Lemon Tree of Southport, where he displayed a special knack for making everyone who came in the door feel welcomed.
In his limited spare time, as a member of the Pastime Athletic Club, John enjoyed fishing from his boat the “Johnny A Too”, bringing home many trophies from various fishing tournaments, including children's tournaments, where he delighted in cheering the kids on when a fish would bite. He made everyone in his company feel special as he greeted family and friends with his broad smile and playfully boisterous demeanor.
While he was a natural Yankee's fan, his real sports passion took hold with the NY Giants. Upon the birth of his daughter Dominique, John made it his mission to ingrain in her that same passion for the team as well as the sport. He would beam with pride as she shared with him and others her knowledge of all of the teams in the league, the individual players, and their stats. So, together, over the course of many years, they bonded over the joys and sorrows that could only come from being a “Giants fan.”
John is also survived by Dominique's mother, Barbara A.A. Dougiello; a niece, Dawn Giangregorio and her husband Vittorio; one uncle, two aunts, several cousins and two great nieces. He will also be fondly remembered by the Dougiello family and numerous friends. In addition to his father Dominic, John was also predeceased by his beloved brother, Glenn.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday at 9:15 am from the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road and at 10 am in St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Full Military Honors will be rendered immediately following the Mass. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm.
