John Peterson Obituary

John R. Peterson
September 14, 1936 - August 12, 2024
Jack Peterson, 87, a longtime resident of Wilton and Norwalk, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Norwalk Hospital.
Jack was born on September 14, 1936, in Norwalk, CT. He grew up in Norwalk, where he met and married his childhood sweetheart, the late Therese Menna Peterson, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. He later moved to Wilton, where he opened Peterson's Auto Body, successfully running the business for 30 years. Growing up, he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and golf. In his spare time away from the business, he developed an interest in tinkering with electronics and computers. He also became fascinated with planes and obtained his pilot's license. An avid boater, he was a 50-year member of the South Norwalk Boat Club.
Jack is survived by his sister, Vicki Peterson Raymond, of Danbury; his two brothers-in-law, John and Jacque Menna of Kingwood, TX, and Jim and Bonnie Menna of Spring, TX; three children, Bob and Stacey Peterson of New Milford, Sue Peterson and Jeff Woodward of Bethel, and Mike Peterson of New Milford; and four grandchildren, Ryan and Christy Wolf of Woodstock, CT, Kayla and Tanner Holloway of Boonsboro, MD, Jake Peterson of New Milford, and Lauren Morton-Peterson of New Milford. He was also a proud great-grandfather to three: Harper Wolf, Bodhi Wolf, and Ella Holloway.
Our family would like to thank the kind, friendly staff and residents at the Ogden House.
Funeral services and burial will be private with his family.
Donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

Aunt Jacque and Uncle Johnny

Bob, Sue, Mike, You all know how we felt about your dad. He was a fun , caring, and thoughtful guy..... sometimes a bit argumentative, but that's what made him interesting... Uncle Johnny will miss talking to him every time he goes down the HOV lane into Houston. They talked from the minute he left Kingwood until he got to Houston..... guess who talked the most?

Jack, as Terri, I will truly miss. He was like a brother (in-law), honest, funny, outspoken at times, but a true friend. God Bless him, he is at peace now with Terri.

We are so sorry Jack has passed but know he is with Terry who he loved and missed so much. Grampy Jack to Harper was always so kind and generous to Harper. Although we didn´t get to spend a lot of time with him being in NH he always made sure Harper knew him with the letters and pictures he would send her They will be forever cherished.
