Michael Wechter Obituary
May 18, 1938 - Dec. 14, 2017
Michael Howard Wechter, 79, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, SC, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Wechter was born May 18, 1938, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the first of thirteen children of Harry L. and Elinor Eddy Wechter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Brody Michael.
He was formerly employed in the IT Department as a Computer Programmer at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC. Mr. Wechter was a member of Celebration Presbyterian Church in the Carolina Forest Community of Myrtle Beach, where he served his church in various capacities. He was an avid reader who especially enjoyed science fiction. Mr. Wechter was a very devoted husband, father, and cherished taking care of his entire family.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Kathleen H. Wechter; his son, Thomas Wechter; his daughter, Julie Wechter (Greg) all of CT; his six grandchildren, Keegan, Kalee, Ryan, Dana, Jordan, and Brandon. Mr. Wechter is also survived by his twelve siblings: Nancy, Christopher, Dorothy, Mary, Peter, Francis, David, Roger, Kathe, Wendy, Colin and Pam.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
