Norman Roberts Obituary

Norman Anthony Roberts, Sr.
Norman Anthony "Norm" Roberts, Sr. was born in Rowayton, Connecticut, April 12, 1943 and passed peacefully at home on August 10, 2025. He attended Fairfield Prep, Fairfield University (salutatorian), University of Chicago Law and Quinnipiac University School of Law.
Norm was a fountain of knowledge, providing historic insight to any topic. Reading more than a book per week, he was affectionately referred to as "the book". In his younger years, Norm was a competitive pianist, winning the Connecticut State Junior Championship at Carnegie Hall.
Norm's career began in business, working with Emery Air Freight and Selectrons Corp. before going back to law school. After earning his law degree at age 50, he worked primarily for the State of Connecticut, becoming the Family Clerk and later Deputy Chief Clerk at Stamford Superior Court, where he served for over twenty years before his retirement.
Norm enjoyed long weekends on The Cape, family canasta games, and especially his yearly anniversary trips to Maui with his wife of 55 years, MaryAnn Provenzano Roberts.
Norm was an active member of St. Matthew Parish, where he taught RCIA for over 17 years, bringing many to the faith.
Norm was extremely proud of his children (Norman II, Daniel, and Robin), his daughters-in-law, and his five granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Matthew's on September 5, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Matthew Parish (216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854) for masses to be said throughout the year in his memory.
Arrangements are in the care of County Cremation Service.
