Patrick Martin Devine, 74, of Palm Coast, FL passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013.
Mr. Devine was a native New Yorker and a graduate of St. John's University. He lived in Bayside, NY until moving to Connecticut where he and his wife Barbara Devine resided in Norwalk, for over 30 years prior to moving to Palm Coast, FL. Mr. Devine was a CPA whose career included serving as Controller/Treasurer at Roberts & Holland, LLP for over 15 years. Prior to that he worked at companies including Tenzer, Greenblatt, Fallon & Kaplan, Olin Corporation, and Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Mr. Devine was a loving and generous son, father, grandfather, uncle, neighbor and friend with a great sense of humor and quick-wittedness, and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed visiting with his family, traveling, drives to the beach, fishing, and participating in various activities with the New York and Irish Social Clubs of Palm Coast.
Mr. Devine was preceded in death by his parents Patrick and Margaret Devine, his sister Margaret Mary and his brother Thomas Francis. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara; his children Patrick of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Kevin and his wife Laura of New Milford, NJ, Maureen and her husband Brian of Alexandria, VA, and Timothy and his wife Allyson of Hawthorne, CA; his sister Brenda Morton of Bayside, NY; his eight grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 30, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 215-35 38th Ave., Bayside, NY. His family will receive friends on Thursday at Lloyd Funeral Home, 214-43 39th Ave., Bayside, NY 11361, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
