Deaconess Queenie David, age 60 of Norwalk, CT entered eternal rest on Monday, April 28, 2014. Queenie was born on January 13, 1954 in Camden, AL to the late Mose and Rebecca Wilson.
Queenie graduated from Keith High School, Orrville, Alabama in 1973. She married her best friend Curtis David Jr. on August 19, 1978 and they lived together in Stamford before moving to Norwalk. Queenie worked at Clairol for 23 years until she retired in 2009. Queenie was an active and dedicated member of Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. She served as Deaconess and was former president of the Chancelor Choir.
Queenie loved to garden, exercise, take long walks, joy rides, vacations and enjoyed spending time with her family. Queenie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Curtis David Jr., three children, Teresa David, Demetria David and Curtis David III of Norwalk and step-daughter Dawn David-Langston of Milford; three grandchildren, Tyler David, Sidney Seide and Imani Langston; eight siblings, Hannah Burton of Lansing, MI, Willie B.Wilson (Viola Wilson) of Stamford, Mose Wilson Jr. (Inez Wilson) of Norwalk, Nellie Dixon (Richard Dixon) of Farmville, NC, Samuel Wilson (Rosa Wilson) of Norwalk, Willie M. “Sis” Wilson, of Camden, AL, Annie Wilson and Muriel Wilson, both of Bridgeport; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Queenie was preceded in death by her parents Mose and Rebecca Wilson, a sister Lillie Mae Davidson, brothers Frank Wilson and Izeal Wilson and her mother-in-law, Etta Pernell David and father-in-law, Curtis David Sr.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 2nd from 6pm to 8pm at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove Street, Stamford, CT with a funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, May 3rd at 10 am. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 Hecker Avenue, in Darien, CT.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that all donations be made to Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove Street, Stamford, CT 06901.
