Richard DeLallo Obituary
Richard S. DeLallo, 68, husband of Diane F. DeLallo of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, June 12, too soon, but peacefully, at home.
A lifelong Norwalk resident, Richard was born on November 5, 1950, to the late Joseph and Theresa DeLallo. Richard graduated from J.W. Wright Technical School, served six years in the Coast Guard reserves, and pursued a long and dedicated career as a communications technician and foreman at several top companies such as AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He was a Life Member of the South Norwalk Boat Club where he served for a time as Commodore and was known to open the facility every morning. In his spare time, he could be found on the golf course, spending time with his grandchildren or working in his garden. He is survived by his wife, Diane; children Richard (and his wife Rebecca) and Laura; grandchildren Megan, Alex and Shannon; siblings Elaine Tourigny, Sandra Masse, Joseph DeLallo, and Marianne McDonald; and numerous nieces and nephews. All will miss him dearly.
Friends and family may call Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle, 203 East Avenue. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.

From time to time I have thought of Rich because we use to keep in touch and then I had not heard from him. Rich and I worked together on and off over 20 year span. I was a customer and he was the foreman over the techs. He was such a GREAT person and always encouraged me to stay on top of technology so I could remain working in Telecom. He always spoke of his family who he cherished and loved to the end of the world and was so looking to spend his retirement on the golf course. So sorry to hear of his passing. I assume it was not expected. I know he's on Heaven's Golf course

I'm very shocked and saddened to hear of Richies passing. I worked with him for many years at SNET, Sonecor and finally at Custom Phone. He was a great guy and a friend. He will be missed. Way too early.

As a summertime visitor at the South Norwalk Boat Club, I just learned of of Rich's passing. Rich and I shared a cup of coffee at the Club most mornings. His sense of humor was contagious and he always made my wife and I feel welcome at Club functions. We will miss him greatly and send our heartfelt condolences to his family.

Rich was one of the most active and supportive members of the men's golf community at the Norwalk municipal course at Oak Hills. I valued his friendship both on and off the golf course and never regretted having to pay him my losing golf bets, as he was a much better golfer than I!
