Samantha O'Shea Obituary
With a heavy heart we share the passing of Samantha Nicole OShea, 16, of Newbury Park and Simi Valley on July 18, 2011.
Samantha was born in Thousand Oaks on April 12, 1995, and was to be a junior in high school this fall. Samantha was a lifelong resident of Ventura County where she was surrounded by family, friends and loved ones. Her siblings and close family where her true source of joy that would flow out in smiles and laughter and could warm an entire home, forcing all to join in. The only thing that rivaled her love of her family was her love of the many animals that passed through her life. She would always be found with one of her much-loved dogs close by. Samantha had shared hopes of one day going to college or becoming a chef. She was always there to help if the need arose, and was quick to offer a hug.
She is survived by two families that will miss her deeply. Father Timothy OShea; sisters Alexis OShea, Nicole OShea, and brother Joseph OShea; grandparents Joseph Peter OShea and Ella OShea, all of Newbury Park; aunts Leslie OShea of New Jersey and Megan Lillich, and uncle Geoffrey Lillich. She is also survived by mother, Tracy Gildroy, stepfather Craig Gildroy, of Castle Rock, CO; brother Michael Sprangers of Simi Valley; sister, Jordan Gildroy and brother, Joshua Gildroy of Castle Rock, CO; uncle Les Burke of Simi Valley and grandmother Sue Gildroy of Waldport, OR.
A service of remembrance will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 25, in the Chapel of the Hills, located in the main building at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park.
In addition to flowers, donations to the ASPCA are also welcomed by the families in honor of Sams love of dogs. Samantha was like her much-loved tulips; in the spring, bright, beautiful and amazing- but too soon gone. I can't sleep at all. I stay awake and I think about you until my eyes are too tired from crying that they literally can't stay open. I have this empty feeling in my heart and my stomach is always in knots. I hear your name and it's a bittersweet reminder of how you're gone until I see you again. What I would do to bring you back is limitless. I'd do anything to have you here. You were the most caring, lovable, talented, funny, and beautiful girl I've ever met and I'm so jealous that the angels get to be with you until I can again. I'll shut my eyes tonight and try to meet you in my dreams, I hope you get some sleep too Sammy. I love you so much and I miss you more than I could ever express.

I got to know your family when I had Nicole in first grade. I was always so impressed that Nicole's older sisters came to wait with her after school and always seemed to adore Nicole. Although I didn't really get to know Samantha I am saddened by the loss of your beautiful young daughter. God bless your family as you deal with this difficult loss.

Tim and Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Bryan called me yesterday in total shock over this and asked me if I remembered you and your family. I will always remember Sam's beautiful and happy face. My step-daughter Miranda and Samantha were friends since middle school. Even though they moved on to different schools, they were still very close..always on the phone or getting together for sleepovers or going to the mall. We are all so sad to hear of her passing, and I know many hearts were broken that day. We send our love and prayers.

Samantha was twiced blessed with two families that loved her. May God lift this heavy pain from your from your hearts.
