Stephen Gulick Obituary
Stephen Gulick, Jr. loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024, in Naples, FL surrounded by his loving family. He was 84 years old.
Stephen was married to his high school sweetheart, Jean (Miglioccio) Gulick, with whom he recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on April 27, 2024. Together, they were longtime residents of Marco Island, FL, and Huntington, CT.
Born in Bay Shore, Long Island on November 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Stephen Gulick, Sr. and Katherine (Adamik) Gulick. He was raised in Norwalk, CT where he was known to many as "Steve" or "Butch".
After high school, with his impressive height of 6'6", Steve found work as a sheet rocker. However, he always harbored aspirations for a better life for himself and his family. Through his drive and determination, he became a self-made businessman. Together, with his two longtime business partners, Homer Bernier and Richard Engelke, he founded Gulick and Engelke and later BEG (Bernier, Engelke & Gulick), specializing in the construction of both residential and commercial properties throughout Fairfield County.
Steve was consistently recognized by his friends and family for his remarkable generosity. He found joy in giving rather than receiving, always prioritizing the well-being of those closest to him without any expectation of reciprocity.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed the peacefulness of fishing on his boat, creating lasting memories with friends on the golf course or routing for his favorite football team, the New York Giants.
In addition to his devoted wife, Jean, he is survived by his son Steven Gulick of Milford, CT, his son Michael Gulick and his wife, Tracy of Norwalk, CT and his daughter Susan (Gulick) Stalling of Monroe, CT. He was the beloved "Poppy" to his eight grandchildren: Emma Gulick, Ryan Gulick, JT Gulick, Katie Stalling, Carly Stalling, Riley Gulick, Matthew Gulick and Madison Gulick. He is also survived by his brother, Andrew Gulick and his wife Kathy along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Nancy (Gulick) Cole and her husband Gerry Cole, Eleanor (Gulick) Swift and her husband, Herold and his sister Katherine "Kate" Gulick.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Huntington, CT on Wednesday, June 5th at 11:00 a.m.

I was so sorry to hear of Butch's passing!
We haven't seen each other in a long long time but such great memories!
Loved it when he came to our home on Folwell Rd to visit with my Dad or brother. His positive, friendly, and energetic personality was one in a million. He always had that wonderful laugh and great smile! Always something good to say!

RIP My life long mentor of whom I held in the HIGHEST regard. So many great conversations at Anastasia's and long after, from someone like myself that came from a family of intelligent businessman I had the pleasure of an outside perspective in Mr. Gulick. I always enjoyed the relationship you had with my dad and the mutual respect you had for each other back to the 40's when you guys laughed about have escarole n beans at my grandma's. Lastly as I say goodbye I would like to thank you for all your support over the years and always giving it to me straight with that stern look even if it wasn't what I wanted to hear. I will never forget you my friend n mentor.
