Allan Clampitt Obituary

Allan R. Clampitt, 63, of Grand Island died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. Harvey Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Mr. Clampitt was born on Feb. 26, 1947, at Grand Island, the son of Robert and Jane (Brown) Clampitt.

He was united in marriage to Carol Doty on April 1, 1972, in Grand Island.

Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Carol; two daughters and a son-in-law, Amelia Ann Reimers of Grand Island and Bettejayne and Tony Cavitt of Grand Island; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne Ann and Charles Buswell of Lincoln; and his mother of Grand Island.

Other survivors include five grandchildren, Matthew Clampitt, Ben Clampitt, Lance Reimers, Alicia Clampitt and Gage Cavitt; great-grandson, Cayden Clampitt and many nieces and nephews.

He was welcomed into heaven by his father and brother, James G. Clampitt.

Allan grew up in Alda, graduating from Wood River High School, class of 1965. He went on to complete two and a half years at Kearney State College.

He was employed by First National Bank of Grand Island as well as Equitable Building and Loan, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Sons of American Legion and the Messiah Lutheran Church. Allan enjoyed camping, but most of all enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

A memorial fund will be established in Allan's name.
