Andrew Alan "Andy" McVicker, 31, of Kearney, formerly of Grand Island died on August 20, 2025.

A private family ceremony was held on Sunday in Kearney. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.

Andy was born October 14, 1993, in St. Paul, Neb. Andy was the son of Scott and Janelle (Rasmussen) McVicker. He grew up in Grand Island and graduated in 2012 from Grand Island Senior High School. Afterwards, he went on to attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney, proudly earning a bachelor's degree in computer science.

Once finished with school, Andy found that he loved Kearney and chose to make his life there. He made many friends and built a successful career as an online parts manager at Menards.

Andy had many passions in life, including his love of the outdoors, biking, and traveling. He recently took trips to New York and to see family in Oregon. Disc golf was one of Andy's greatest passions and he went as far as to have a basket/target in his backyard to hone his skill.

Everyone who knew Andy never had anything bad to say about him. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Those who are left to cherish Andy's memory include his parents, Scott and Janelle McVicker and his sister, Tera McVicker (Angel Lopez). He is survived by his grandfathers, Richard McVicker and Paul Rasmussen, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Andy was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Shirley McVicker, Joyce Rasmussen and Gaylee Rasmussen and a cousin, Tyler Dory.
