Ken (or Kenny, as he was affectionately known) was born on November 27, 1935, (not in May as he assured the Navy when he enlisted!) to Charles Gogh & Doris Genell Luzio Patrick in Omaha, Nebraska. He grew up and attended school in Omaha.

Ken entered the United States Navy at the age of 17, on December 5, 1952, and was honorably discharged on April 30, 1956. He received the National Defense Service Medal.

Ken was united in marriage to Joan Wetzel on June 8, 1968, at their beloved Willow Island cabin on the river. They lived their entire married life in Grand Island, Nebraska.

After being discharged from the Navy, Ken worked as a salesman for several different companies. He worked for many years, alongside Joan, in the Wetzel Beer Distributing business. He was a gifted salesman. In his later years, Ken became a farmer. He loved farming and the land.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the VFW, the American Legion, and the Saddle Club. He was also the President of Kuester's Lake Home Owners' Association.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; brothers & sisters-in-law, Charles & Barbara Patrick, and Michael & Jean Tegland; his daughters and son-in-law, Pamela Patrick and Julie & Steve Dockery; his granddaughters, Darleen Patrick, Melissa Birdsong, and Jessica Hager; his great granddaughters, Lyla, Faith, and Bridget; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Patrick, Doris Patrick Tegland, and Leonard Tegland; as well as his father-in-law, Charlie Wetzel; infant daughter, Christine Hope Patrick; and brothers-in-law, Charles Wetzel Jr., Don Wetzel, and Howard Wetzel.

Ken always said, "My cabin is my paradise on earth!"
