Pauline "Pollie" Hahn, age 94, of Council Bluffs, IA and formerly of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday July 6th at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Dan Barbey and Pastor Joshua Hahn will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Hampton Cemetery. No Visitation. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Pauline A. Hahn, the daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth (Beck) Jorth, was born at Spencer, Iowa on December 2, 1929 and passed away in Omaha, Nebraska on July 2, 2024, at the age of 94.
She graduated from high school in Milford, IA and graduated from Concordia College and took graduate hours from UNK and UNL. Pollie taught in Hampton and Aurora Elementary schools.
Pollie married Rodger D. Hahn on June 20, 1953 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer, Iowa. They had four children: Patricia, Brian, Michael and Andrew. Rodger passed away on August 14, 1998.
Pollie was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Hampton Homemakers. She volunteered playing the piano at the Hamilton Manor, Westfield Quality Care, Hearthstone in York, and St. Peter Lutheran Church. Pollie volunteered her time at the Red Cross Bloodmobile, G. I. Headstart and NE Center for Women in York. Her hobbies were her backyard flower garden with a "Garden Walk" in July of 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and 4 brothers, Arnold (Nora) Jorth, Raymond (Merna) Jorth, Allan (Cheryl) Jorth and Curtis Jorth; 1 sister, Sylvia Foreman; 4 brothers-in-law, Kenny (Marilyn Hahn), Howard (Arlene) Hahn, Marshall (Lucille) Hahn, Dwight Hahn and sister-in-law, Ramona (Lloyd) Hillman.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Patricia (Patrick) Brost of Kearney; 3 sons, Brian (Devrie) Hahn of Galena, MO, Michael (Linda) Hahn of Council Bluffs, IA and Andrew (Pamela) Hahn of Omaha; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Marjorie Wahlgreen of Fort Dodge, IA, Alice Blake of Madrid, Spain and Carol McMurray of Rhode Island; brother-in-law, Ed Foreman of Florida; sister-in-law, Barbra Hahn of Orlando, FL and many nieces and nephews from all parts of the U.S., also Madrid, Barcelona and Seville, Spain.
