Randall "Randy" Riessland

1950 - 2021

Randall "Randy" L. Riessland, 70, of Grand Island, passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney with the Rev. Luke Biggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Horner Lieske McBride and Kuhl Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later. Randy was born Nov. 23, 1950, to Dale and Gladys (Pfeiffer) Riessland of Amherst. He graduated from Pleasanton High School with the class of 1969. He attended Wesleyan University where he received his bachelor of science in biology and his bachelor of science in medical technology from St. Elizabeth.
He married Jill Fuestman on Oct. 12, 1974. He worked at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island for 37 years. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Randy also enjoyed fishing, horse racing, spending time with grandkids and he especially enjoyed the Fourth of July.
Survivors include his wife, Jill Riessland of Grand Island; daughter Megan (Nic) Fryda of Kearney; son Greg Riessland of Grand Island; three grandkids, Paige, Hudson and Archer Fryda of Kearney; sister, Sherry Lammers of Amherst; brother Larry (Carole) Riessland of Pleasanton; brother and sister-in-laws, Kay (Gary) Nuttelman of Bertrand and Janet (Roger) Riessland of Amherst.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Dale and Genny Fuestman.
