Richard Alan "Rick" Necker

Richard Alan "Rick" Necker, 70, of Grand Island, NE, died Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at CHI Health St. Francis, in Grand Island, NE. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, February 12, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel. Dr. Rev. Charles D. Gregory will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Lindale Cemetery near Hordville, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date. Rick was born November 5, 1953, at Grand Island, NE, the son of Loyal V. and RoJean A. (Nelson) Necker.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Gwendolyn Necker of Grand Island, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Maile and Stephen Stangler of Dickinson, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Brittany Necker of Green Cove Springs, Fl; stepson and his wife, Tad and Annette Baldwin of Central City, NE; brothers, Kevin Necker of Omaha, NE, Ryan Necker of Colorado Springs, CO, Darren Necker of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Rhonda Schulze of Hordville, NE, Karrie Gress of Hordville, NE.
Others who cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Nilan Smith, Ziggy and Raylyn Necker, Breah Lynn Necker; step grandchildren, Jacoby, Hope, Neveah, Eve and Gavin Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Brynlynn Robertson, Greyson and Bella Winchester.
Rick grew up in Hordville, NE graduating from Hordville High School in 1972. He married Karen Pheigaru in 1974, at Aurora, NE. They lived in Grand Island. Richard worked at various jobs and was a cabinet maker as well. He married Gwendolyn Baldwin, on September 2, 1989, at Grand Island, NE. Rick worked for 30 years as an Industrial Maintenance Technician for various companies including Hornaday Manufacturing.
Rick enjoyed spending time with family, playing guitar, and applying his skills in rebuilding and maintaining his classic truck and motorcycle which he loved to ride with his wife Gwen. He was also very proud of his YouTube channel "Old Man Tech".
He is a past member of the First Baptist Church and was a past member of the Grand Island Modelers Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Prayers for family and friends of Richard! He was a great friend to many, and will be missed by all who knew him! I was fortunate enough to have him make me an exact replica model car of my 1955 chevy, which I will treasure forever!
