May 8, 1947 - March 3, 2025

Saul Nuncio, 77 of Grand Island died Monday, March 3, 2025, with his loving family by his side, following two and a half years fighting cancer.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 11th at the Third City Christian Church. Brother-in-law, Reverend Dennis Rivera will officiate with Fr. Jorge Canella present. Burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army and United Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorials are being requested to be sent to the family for the development of a scholarship fund.

Saul was born on May 8, 1947, the son of Ygnacio and Romana (Sandoval) Nuncio. He was raised and received his education in Shelton, NE. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-71. On April 30, 1977, he was united in marriage to Yolanda Chavez. This union was blessed with children, Rachel, Feliciano, and Mario.

Saul was known for an infectious smile, unwavering kindness, and always putting others before himself. Cherished by all who knew him and remembered with love. Saul was a beloved soul who touched many lives. His warmth, generosity and sense of humor will be greatly missed. He had a passion for gardening and his beautiful vegetable and flower gardens were admired by all creating his hard work into memorable ways he was able to share with everyone. He loved his children and always supported their activities and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities until he became ill.

Saul retired from Case New Holland following 34 years of service. He worked parttime as a gas station attendant for Sam's Club For 16 years. His memberships included the GI Latin Club, Saddle Club and American Legion. Saul was proud to have been on a Hall County Hero Flight to Washington, D.C.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Yolanda; their children, Rachel (Brian) Gabb of Omaha, Feliciano (Megan) Nuncio of Lincoln and Mario (Jessica) Nuncio of Grand Island; grandchildren, Gabby, Bella, Alicia, Anthony and Ruby; brothers, David (Patricia) Nuncio, Sam (Reynalda) Nuncio and sisters, Elizabeth (Gene) Conroy, Viola Cortez and Noemi (Rev. Dennis) Rivera and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Elsa Davila, Nora Guzman and Maya Contreras.
