Beatrice Reddick Obituary

BEATRICE S. (TRIXIE) REDDICK
GUILFORD, CT - Beatrice S. (Trixie) Reddick, 91, of Guilford, CT, died Monday, April 23, 2007. Trixie was born June 10, 1915 in Albany, GA, to George C. and Beatrice (George) Schempp. She grew up in Ithaca, NY, and was a 1937 Graduate of Cornell University with a Degree in Home Economics. She started the first Preschool called Happy Child Nursery School in Guilford, which she operated for 35 years. Beatrice's passions, besides teaching, were collecting and repairing antique dolls. Her collection was very extensive and from around the world. Beatrice was past President of the Women of Cornell Club, Member of the AAUW, Nutmeg Doll Club and the National Federation of Doll Clubs. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her brother, John A. Schempp; and her grandson, M. Sean Dahl. She is survived by her son, Donald W.(Alice) Reddick of Madison, CT; and her daughter, Ruth Anne (Michael) Dahl of Ferndale, WA. She has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucy Jacoby of Michigan; and a brother, George C. Schempp, Jr. of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service is planned for a later date.
