Carl Keith Obituary

Keith, Carl F.

Carl F. Keith, age 85, of 252 Pennsylvania Avenue, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 16, 2016, with his family by his side. Carl was born on January 22, 1931 in South Waverly, PA, a son of the late Guy and Mae (Weller) Keith. He was married to his best friend and the love of his life, Marcia Wright on October 29, 1949. They lovingly raised their family and have always called Trumansburg their home. Most always seen together, whether it be their daily walks in the village, golfing, or just having coffee at Shur-Save, their friendly smiles and warm conversations were welcomed by everyone. Carl enjoyed his morning donut runs at Ron Don's and golf outings with friends. Carl operated the family farm on Jacksonville Road for many years and also worked in the printshop of Wilcox Press in Ithaca while farming. He worked with Dick Lowe at Lowe's Soft Water, a working friendship that spanned several years. Carl is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marcia and his children; David (Steve) Keith of Portland, Maine, Diane (Doug) Millspaugh of Trumansburg, Debbie Lincoln of Trumansburg and John (Kate) Keith of Tuxedo, NY; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. At his request, there will be a Celebration of Carl's life, held at the Trumansburg Golf Course, 23 Halsey Street, on May 14, 2016. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 5:00pm that day. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Carl's memory to; Trumansburg Golf Course in memory of Carl Keith, PO Box 832, Dryden, NY 13053; or Ulysses Christmas Bureau, c/o Deborah McIntyre, 113 Tamarack Lane, Trumansburg, NY 14886. Marcia,

I'm so sorry to hear this terrible news. Carl was such a great man, so kind and such fun to be around. I have so many fond memories of our many many rounds together. It's hard to believe that I'll never see him again. I always hope that if I get back to NY I could stop by and play some golf and all my old friends will still be around but it's not true. Just know I'm thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Marcia, Dave, Diane, Debbie, John & families - My heart goes out to each of you at this sad time. Keeping the joyous memories alive will help soothe your hearts. I can hear Uncle Carl's laughter, see his great smile, and remember all the fun times during anniversary parties, being in the pond at the farm, taking a walk on Kingtown Road at X-mas time without coats on because it was so warm - - just so many crazy, happy times. Thinking of each of you and keeping you in my thoughts, heart and prayers. Love and hugs to each of you.

Uncle Carl was a fun uncle! Always laughing and smiling and dancing too! I know that all of you will miss those silly days too. Keep the memories close. Laugh or cry as you need to, because tears help with the healing. Love to you all!

He was called by my husband, Freddie or Freddie New Knees, after his knee surgeries. When I think of Uncle Carl, I see him dancing. He and Aunt Marcia were always dancing! My 1st memory of him was when we all lived on Washington St. during the war and he would be there dancing along with other class mates after school to records that my Aunts played. So many fond memories! Will miss him
