Catherine Braine Obituary

CATHERINE "KAY" JOCH BRAINE
ITHACA - Catherine "Kay" Joch Braine, 67, died Thursday, November 22, 2007, at the Lakeside Nursing Home. She was born in Mineola, NY, daughter of Barbara Joch who survives her and the late Joseph Joch, and was the widow of Jim Braine.
Kay grew up in Manhasset, NY and moved to California in 1958 before moving to Ithaca in 2002. While in California, she worked for Varian Associates in Sunnyvale.
In addition to her mother living in Ithaca, Kay is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Nancy Joch of Ithaca; and nieces and nephews, Cor deJong of Kentucky, Perrin deJong of Oregon, Mariesa Joch of Ithaca, Loren Daniels of Teaneck, NJ, Lisa Aslan of Florida, Jill LeClaire of Hauppauge, NY, Stefan Daniels of Long Island, and Teresa Daniels of Staten Island. In addition to her father and husband, she was also predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Daniels.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Manhasset, NY. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay's memory may be made to the M.S. Society or to Lakeside Nursing Home. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home.
