David Hoffman Obituary

Hoffman, David Edward

A shining star has fallen on June 17, 2016 with the unexpected passing of David Edward Hoffman. Son to Norman (Karen) & Debra Hoffman. Born on July 6, 1977 David showed an enthusiasm for finding the good in the bad, the beauty in all things and the silver lining in life. Beginning in his younger years David found a passion in figuring out what made things tick by taking them apart which transpired into an affection for all technologies and ultimately into building custom computers as a trade. David also found devotion as a long standing member and Past President of the Local Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1253 in Ithaca N.Y. David's abundance of childlike innocence resonates within us all, remembering his uncanny quick wit, silly shenanigans, and so much laughter. Dave, your love light will burn eternally in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held at the Ithaca Eagles Club Aerie #1253 on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at 5:00 PM Family and Friends are welcome to attend. David was predeceased by his Brothers Norman W Hoffman, William R Brown and Mans Best Friend Malaki. He is survived by his Beloved Parents, Daughter Randy, Sister Valerie (Mark), Niece Faith (Dewey), Great Niece Violet, Nephews Damion, Lukas and Aidyn, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a plethora of friends including longtime house mate Kenneth Fiero.

I’m in total shock to see this. I haven’t spoke to David in over 20 years He was one of my closest childhood friends I recently turned forty and started reminiscing on the past friends that I have been blessed to have met and thought I should reach out and say hello How’s life? Unfortunately Dave I’ll have to wait a little longer to hear your voice again I’m so ashamed I didn’t reach out sooner love you brother you will always be in my heart

I will never forget growing up as a young child with Valerie and David. The two babysat me on and off through my younger years. Val mostly. When David would he'd teach me new things. Such as how to blink with each eye and wiggle my eyebrows up an down simultaneously. He also taught me the importance of a seatbelt. While we would drive around Douglas road in his field car. One quick press of the breaks and I lost my first tooth. An acquired who knows what number bloody nose. He'd always stop to ask if I was alright and if I wanted to keep riding. My answer was always yes. He was a quick witted, funny goof ball. Whom was only taken seriously when the situation granted. He was fun, caring and loving. He will be missed and my fun memories will never falter. Thank you for the fun memories and the great talks as a young teen. You are missed.

David, God has gained such a sweet, sweet soul. We have on the other hand lost your laughter and your ever so beautiful smiling face. We will miss that!! Things don't seem fair but it is not for us to know just why or how come. Only God knows. Just know, He will make things right. Love you with all my heart. Aunt Audrey
