David Ross Obituary
FREEVILLE - David James Ross, age 77, of 163 Main St., Freeville, NY, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Ross was born May 30, 1931 at Mehoopany, PA, a son of the late Olin and Hazel Ross. He was honorably discharged from the US Air Force after serving from 1951 to 1961. A resident of Freeville for many years, he was employed as a machinist at Borg Warner and retired from Emerson Power Transmission in 1995. He was an avid fisherman, bowler and gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen M. Ross of Freeville; his children, Christine (Ray) Bell of Freeville, Dave (Helen) Ross, Austin (Diane) Ross, Joyce (Otis Phillips, Jr.) Moon, Michele (Larry) Jarvis, Belinda Ross, Deborah (Kevin Vires) Ross, and Brian Ross; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters in West Virginia, nieces and nephews.
At David's request, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Those wishing to remember David are asked to consider a memorial to Hospicare, 172 East King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden, NY.
